Not sure I fully understand this right, but my take is that if I am receiving the data for non display perposes than there is no bigger issue than I have now. I say now, but things even here have been changing. Beginning about a month ago, I had to start paying $1 per month each for NYSE and NASDAQ real time quotes for IB. In the past it was free if I made so many transactions a month. The transactions gate was removed.
Since I can make charts with IB, not sure what that will mean. I could easily give up that function.
However this may or not be a big change for someone like SC, who receives the information and makes it available to me in chart form. I think they are the ones they are going after. Depending on how large the fees are, SC may have to charge more for their service.
Just my take at the present but I only scanned the article. I will wait until I see someone really explain what all this means.
