I have a Just2trade account. I do not recommend them there customer service is horrible. They were bought out by a NY firm I believe in 2008. I had POS stocks that have changed names. Because it is before 2011 and because of the clearing firm transfers they do not have the data. I got rid of and wrote off in 2016 these stocks and on my 1099 it shows up as an incomplete transaction. I do have a record of my buys. I have asked them to take my record of buys and match them up and get my 1099 correct but they will not do it. How can you figure out what the history of these stocks are so I can get the tax consequences I deserve?
Wash sales! Yikes it was the strict adherence to that first in first out gains matching which changed my whole trading profits trajectory. It was like the pitcher who won 20+ games a year and then could only throw wild pitches...that little stupid accounting handcuff somehow stabbed my trading brain, making it only reliable to compound losses.
