Years ago Gainskeeper was popular because it tracked wash sales. Now, since 2011, brokers have to report cost basis and wash sales are calculated and shown on the 1099. When I get my 1099 wash sales are all calculated so I would have no use for Gainskeeper anymore. Maybe it does other things too, but personally, I don't need it.
