Although I agree with you the bullpen is more important in the playoffs. If you have crappy starters you will never get there, and even if you put together a dream bullpen, it will only stay good if it isn't overused. To me innings is what matters with a pitcher, you give me close to 200 innings and do it for a 4 era, this is not and ace by any means but that is a guy who can pitch at the back of my rotation with no problem. He doesn't have to be all world but he can't get knocked out in the 2nd inning either, they have to go 6 innings 3 er, that is a 4.5 era which kind of stinks, yet he gave his team a chance to win that day when I see and outing like that, and you didn't hurt the team for future games which is far more important, because this is a marathon not a sprint.
