Ridiculous. The claims in those two ads are spurious at best. And clearly the group is just a false front for the one 50% owner who doesn't want to sell (and clearly doesn't want to bother with buying the other 50%, which they can certainly do).
The reality is such sales are not uncommon, especially where families are involved. It happens every day where a private company with multiple owners may disagree on direction, or some owners may want to sell and some may not. There is an entire (booming) industry whose sole purpose is handle such ownership disputes and resolve them. Usually it is settled without Supreme Court intervention, but this is a weird one as the ownership is effectively 50/50 among just two people.
I doubt those ads will do anything whatsoever. I doubt anyone is really fooled by them. It seems like a reach by a entitled owner who thinks they deserve something to which they are not entitled.
