I am a little confused. Exactly what leverage do they gain by waiting until AFTER interim Ph3 readout before executing on a NASH partnership?
Also, I do not like thinking about it since I have much money invested, but Ph3 interim only stops on futility, correct? That does not mean that it will reach statistical significance. What happens if interim continues because it is too close to tell? What if VBL takes a gamble that the "long-tail for survival" will show and it never does? Wasn't their Ph2 data pretty close to p=0.04? I really hope VBL does not ever have to worry about this.
