Bolt created 50 KNITTED neckties with $90MM in private equity investor capital.

Thanks for a good laugh this morning yankee!!! Kim could have created 50 pair of gloves for a lot less than that if he wanted to.

That would be awesome to see on a balance sheet of a Bolt Threads autopsy:

Money Raised: $90,000,000
Ties Sold: 50@$315 = $15,750
Profits: $(89,984,250)

They have secured their place in history. They will always and forever be referenced as having produced the world's first commercially available 100% pure spider silk product. No one can take that away from them. Now every time an article is written about spider silk, Bolt Threads will most likely get a mention. Free advertising and branding. I would not underestimate that.

You do have valid points but remember that this is only their first baby step. In the Q and A they already said they hope to have another product launch this year that is more widespread and larger in volume.

So some may scoff but they are making tangible progress faster than we are at this point. The race is only getting started but we're still at the starting line and they've already turned the first bend.

Just playing devils advocate. Why do you think it will die out and why a company that can make thread isnt earth shattering. If they can make lots of it at a reasonable price it sure is.

Certainly that's the question. I agree with you by the way but I'd hate to dismiss it just yet.
