The Ron Paul Article could have been a Pravda Editorial. Pro Russia sympathizers, like Paul always blame America for the troubles in Ukraine but never layout the background for the 2014 coup.

Another Perspective. My opinion based on history.

Victor Yanukovych was elected President in 2010. It didn't take long for Ukrainians to see the he was Yanukovych was Putin's mole. He was systematically moving Ukraine away from the West and into Putin's new, expanding Russia.

Native Ukrainians had hated Russia for nearly a century. Following the Russian Revolution, Ukraine started forming an independent State. The Soviets were having none of that Independence nonsense. They sent in the troops a butchered thousands of Ukrainians.

Ukraine was the Bread Basket of the USSR. In the early 1930s, Stalin decided to secure his Bread Basket. He sent in the troops and collectivized the farms. In a 3 year period he shipped out the bulk of Ukraine's wheat crop. Between 3 and 7 million Ukrainians staved to death.

As Ukrainians died, Stalin sent in Russians, to fill the void. Today, the ethnic Russians that are occupying Eastern Ukraine, along with the Russian Army are decedents of the Russians Stalin sent in.

During the Nazi invasion of the USSR, in WW II, Ukraine's hatred for the Soviets was so great, that thousands of them joined forces with the Germans. This was not for love of Hitler, but for the hatred of Stalin and the Russians.

Today, pro Russian people (like Ron Paul) refer the those that took part in the 2014 coup as Nazis, while never going into Ukraine's reason in allying with the Germans.

Ron Paul asks.

How exactly is Russia attempting to destabilize Ukraine?

I'll take a shot at answering his question. How q about Russia invading Crimea and making it part of Putin's New Russia? How about Russia invading Eastern Ukraine and arming ethnic Russians in fighting Ukraine's forces? Putin's obvious goal is to make Eastern Ukraine a part of his New Russia.

IMO, it's only a matter of time until Putin shows us who's next.

NOTE: I'm sick of Blame America First.
