Can the technique be applied to existing scans? Or is it dependent to a new scan?

It requires a follow up scan at a later time point.

And the treating physician is free to wait till that follow up scan before changing treatment.

However, my assertion is that once randomized, at the first scan showing progression, the patient is deemed a progression event and crosses over to DCVax.

RKMatters asserts they will deny the progression event at the first scan showing progression (refusing cross-over access) and wait for confirmation at the next scan. If the next scan shows continued progression the patient crosses and progression is back dated to the first scan. Alternatively, if the next scan shows stable or better the patient stays on his assigned treatment arm (DCVax or Placebo) and the earlier progression event is not deemed an event.
