I'm not sure of exact bulb lifespans for specialty bulbs, but yes...it's SIGNIFICANTLY longer with LED.
Another little known fact... fluorescent uv bulbs degrade over time. After 6 months, they're putting out little to no uv light even though they may produce light for a year or three. Mercury vapors will produce uv consistently throughout the bulb's life. It looks like another common grow bulb is high pressure sodium. Their avg life seems to be up to 40,000 hrs. They are similar to mercury vapor. High wattage, high heat.
Many LEDs are capable of 50,000+ hrs and year after year they're getting longer lifespans.
That's nearly 6 years with continuous run time...but I believe they shut them down to provide a day/night cycle for the plants.
