walkinmanny... Okay. Here is another idea. Go to Control Panel cnd click "Internet Options". Internet Properties menu comes up.

Click the "Connections" tab and where it says "to set up an internet connection, click "Setup"... do it.

When I do this, mine says... "you already have an internet connection".

Don't know, maybe it will tell you that you do not.

My computer connects by wire to modem, and modem to cable service.
I use Maxthon browser mostly, but sometimes use Chrome or Firefox.

Walk. I don't know what you're talking about, were you replying to another post? But the restore steps given to you would NOT involve the internet at all. Or shouldn't.
Matter of fact, turn off any internet and that thing called a firewall after you turn off the internet.

Here's another try. Print this page if you can. It would be easier to follow directions this way.

Lower left, click the 'START' button

On the right side of that pop up window, find and click 'CONTROL PANEL'

In the opened 'control panel window, find and click 'ACTION CENTER' which usually has a little flag next to it.

In the opened 'action center window, usually lower right, find and click the word 'RECOVERY'

In the opened 'recovery window, find and click the square that has a shield in it with the words 'OPEN SYSTEM RESTORE'

In the opened 'restore window, in the lower left area, find and click the little square next to 'SHOW MORE RESTORE POINTS'

You have done nothing yet that can't be cancelled at this point.

When you put a check in that square by clicking on it, more dates will show up on the list from newest to oldest. YOU want a date hopefully that is there from before the hacking of Ihub. If no earlier date is available then restore probably won't help you.

Your only choice then is to click cancel and close the windows that are open.

If there is a older date from before the crap started you want to select that date and click 'NEXT'. There should only be one more click to accept the date to start the restore procedure.
