Newly, I think the 1964 Kennedy halves are one of the best ways to buy silver. They are 90% silver and most of the time the coins are in very good shape as many were pulled early as being the last of the 90% silver coins. If one is buying for security for the very worst of times, I think these will be some of the most negotiable of gold and silver coins for e4xchange for goods and services. They will make very good coinage for change in exchange for the larger valued gold coins. It is also my belief that if that time comes silver will outperform gold in price appreciation. Right now many times on ebay they can be bought for less than melt value.

You are right though, storage is an issue.

Are you afraid you might get robbed, Newly?......seems like most jocks would sag quite a bit.....might I suggest some type of money belt configuration.....thought I'de cheer you up. :>)
