I also own oil company stocks after the latest downturn in an IRA and my family trust has land with 2 oils wells in the Permian Basin that was just 3D Siesmic studied again last summer.
I am okay with that strategy as well. Drilling was proposed a few years ago to different zone but was pushed back due to the oil bust, as far as I am concerned I get to win with either strategy.
Keeping in mind that SBIR/STTR that D'Couto just attended was for DOD technology development, I am thinking the new administration will open up some defense spending as well.
The DOE has many aspects tied to the DOD and the new head may be ignorant of that fact, but I think he will become enlightened in the future.
