Is there really a 2nd MJ stock mania as some here claim? Or is that a pipe dream by out-of-tricks players and fraudsters? I've done some research and still haven't decided. No question the number of unlisted weed stocks is growing but like many fads in this neighborhood, accurate numbers are rare. Some MJ stocks are soaring, some are down to triple zeros and still falling.
In that regard, an REIT called Innovative Industrial Properties (symbol: IIPR), obliquely MJ related, just IPO'd, and listed on the NYSE after a number of delays. IIPR came out at $20, immediately plummeted to $16 and has edged back to 19. It is the NYSE's first "MJ Stock"
IIPR, with five employees, is in the business of running MJ storage facilities of which it owns none so far. It's an interesting but inconclusive barometer of MJ investing interest. By the way, I have absolutely ZERO interest in investing in IIPR or any MJ stocks.
