Technically the company can also buy shares to get dividend on it.

So the plan is to use their money from the sale in the treasury to buy
shares (a buy back without an announcement?) to pay themselves back with
the dividend. Brilliant! Except for the costs associated with purchasing
shares and paying for the dividend distribution. Why wouldn't they just
keep the money in the treasury?
