First, NO software "embeds" itself in the Trusted Platform Module. The software runs on the CPU and uses the security utility of the TPM. "Embed" indicates firmware which is manufactured into the silicon of the TPM when it is fabricated. NO software that utilizes the TPM for hardware security is embedded. It runs on the platform just like Avast or Word runs on the platform.

There is nothing special about this company's software vis a vis the TPM.

Absolutely not. Plus it is important to note that most TPMs are not manufactured by Intel. They are manufactured by multiple vendors. All TPMs must adhere to the spec developed by the Trusted Computing Group of which Intel is but one member.
