Why not install Chrome or fireFox or Opera and find out for yourself?

You can download and install any or all of them...They will not affect Internet Explorer's operation and can be easily un-installed* if you don't like them being on your machine...(*except for IE - parts of Internet Explorer are used by some of Windows' operating system processes)

My own experience with having all the above browsers installed on my WIN 7 machine is that I use Opera more often than the others, for viewing iHub or for general surfing. NONE are selected as my default browser (don't know what benefits there are to selecting a 'default' browser)...I've installed a free AD-Block extension program on each of them...they all work about the same for me over-all, although IE seems to be just a tad slower and the "hoky-est" of them...
(I've also run Maxthon's browser but it had issues operating properly on my machines)

I don't use IE, but I imagine perhaps you could download NoScript or ScriptSafe to eliminate the problem. I use Chrome with ScriptSafe. Good luck.

if you're launching Explorer from a tile try launching from the desk top icon or taskbar first, jic.
