My first experience in popping my delusional cherry was in 1990 when our team was underwriting a GM secondary and we were the lead firm.

I saw what our trading room did on the pricing, and instantly knew the system was rigged.

Couple years later when I changed firms and went into the trading room, my suspicion was confirmed when I noted on one stock we were getting a lot of order flow on. All the order flow went to what is now Knight. For days the Amex specialist was showing no size and the stock never moved. I knew the Third Market was shorting against my clients. One day I routed our order flow to the floor specialist, and what do you think the Third Market firm did? Suspicion confirmed, the system is rigged. And if your not inside the industry, you are outside and flying blind.
