I was taught it's ok to not be good at something (like football) and pushed toward how best I could help the team with my limited capabilities. My best teachers recognized what I was good and not so good at and helped with my flaws and helped develop my strengths. I'm glad I'm retired. I have friends my age who are having difficulty with new hires because, fresh out of college, they think they can do no wrong. They don't understand failure. Telling them they're not doing good or proper work makes them sullen and angry.
