It basically the same thought process everyone seems to have for the last hundred years. Use the same(old) technology, and try to make it better instead of engineering something completely different from the past. Modern cars use the same basic inefficient concept, just modernize it. Same thing with Alzheimer's drugs,except for 2-73 :)
