Gold went parabolic in 1980 to $800. That was from a low of like $25 when the bull market started. Interest rates and inflation were very high, I'm wanting to say like 14% on rates, not sure on that.
Yes, gold can and has thrived in a higher interest rate environment, but I can't see how interest rates can go higher for all the reasons we're giving. A stock and bond market past due for big corrections. A new President that's going to spend money like crazy. Japan, Europe, and China all teetering on the edge. No, IMO shit is going to hit the fan soon. It's just going to take some event to push it over the edge.
If fact, I think we saw the big move in PM's earlier this year because the market knows the higher they attempt to hike the closer to a crash we come. That's another reason why if they do hike in Dec. we'll a big market drop and PM's take another leg higher.
