Yes, toxic financing (which includes short selling) is what the vultures live on and they create these opportunities by running up the price. Look at the action in Sep leading into the last raise. You are correct that you or I shorting here carries a lot of risk. A lot of games are played in bio tech and you can get burned to the upside or downside. I personally have never shorted a stock.

I lost someone close and was calling people at mdanderson to try and get into a dcvax trial or any trial. Noone ever called back. I wished I had called nwbo but knew nothing of cancer or trials.
