GE_Jim

Thank you for a quick and astute response. I agree on all but one point:

The health care field is, no doubt, an intriguing and yes, rewarding one, if you live in the US or some of the European countries that have the resources to fund same.

However, I think you are a little (if not a lot) naive to believe that the Asian, African, South American countries are as concerned with healthcare as we are. Where the heck do you think the profits from cigarette sales are coming from for MO? The Cabarrus county plant in North Carolina is running 24/7 making cigarettes for those markets. Heck, their average life-span is much less than ours, and their quality of life is less.. The cancer scare is mute when you can't live past 40 anyway, So they all want cigarettes and cellphones. And the sales there are escalating.

The emerging markets of the world is much more vast than the health care industry in the US. Those folks want TV and communication much more than healthcare (at this time). And the healthcare industry here will knuckle under the pressure of it's own weight. The evidence is already obvious: nursing homes in my area are now only accepting "private pay" residents....because medicade and medicare cannot cover the cost of actual care....physicians are not making what they were 20 years ago...because of lawyers agreeing to take a suit where a person burns her legs spilling coffee too hot at McDonalds.

Our government at work...
