Pile: T. Boone Pickens is probably the most passionate investment leader in the world on this theme. He claims to believe in global warming and likes NG for that. But it is very much a patriotic thing with him to get our trucking fleet off imported oil.

As I’ve noted before, it is the big rigs, garbage trucks and transit buses that consume 73% of the road fuel usage. All our cars and pickups use just 3.5%. Transportation is over 70% of our oil use. Pickens often mentions the money the U.S. has handed OPEC and says it is the greatest national transfer of wealth in the history of mankind. It is needless with our natural gas resources here in America.
