That would be the best possible news ever. I don't know if it's possible / probable, but that is a fantastic idea. To my knowledge, there has not been any trials with 4g of EPA. So why not use RI to test for as many SEs as possible? This could be a reason why it wasn't stopped at 1st interim - if DES or anything else the was added recently, was not measured from the beginning, so why not measure from that point until 100%?

Good thing I'm not in the trial....been on vascepa 2gm daily two years now...DES remains the same for me. Had to laugh at my eye clinic when they offered omega 3 gel caps for my dry eyes...

I think you nailed it - some have said AMRN reads this MB at times, and with all of the anecdotal posts saying our respective DES was almost instantly relieved by V, that may be one of the secondary endpoints they added earlier this year - makes perfect sense. Won't necessarily allow them to promote V for DES w/o the FDA required optical exams of cornea tissues, but they can certainly count it as a desirable "side effect".
