I knew what it meant, Denmo, as it struck me earlier today that for the first time in 71 years, we (the Cubs) at least have a chance to change more than one number in that storied Wrigleyville signage.

Fwiw, I couldn't be happier being that my first ever Wrigley Field experience was back in game 4 against Detroit in the '45 WS where they lost to Dizzy Trout by a score of 4-1.

I was 9 then and hooked on the Cubs for life. As I've gotten older, my hope for a World Series win before I die has become a somewhat more desperate than the season before.

Now that we're this close...... Let us pray!

Btw, '45 is when the "curse of the Billygoat" got started.

It's time to put that tired dogeared excuse to bed.
