I am not sure what you meant by posting this quote, but it is relevant to what I said earlier in the thread, that Intel can hurt AMD by increasing size of caches, or to potentially compensate for faster performing AMD processors. Furgher, Intel can limit the total output of AMD if Intel can successfully force AMD to follow suit and increase cache (= die size of AMD processors).

The die size of Opteron is partially a success of this strategy (the other part is AMD's current problems with its SRAM cells on SOI).

AH yes, I remember.
That was about the time when Jerry and Hector were thumping their chests about their smaller die size advantage over Intel- no?
They have been quite silent on their die size advantage - ever since their Opteron launched at a 42% LARGER soze than Intel's current Pentium 4.
Funny...the AMD fan boys have also gone silent on this matter - wonder why?
