At some point the people and institutions that hold this debt as assets are going to realize that a big majority of the debt will never be able to be repaid. That will cause the debt bubble to burst because there will be a rush to unload these "assets". They will find their liquid assets aren't so liquid when everyone wants to sell at the same time. Thats when the PMs will explode IMO.
