Thing is though when the mets went down for those 5 weeks they lost reyes, Lageres, walker, Cespedes, and cabrera. In addition to allready being down duda and wright. And add in Harvey and wheeler.

Even now the mets are doing this with Harvey, wheeler, degromm, and synderguaard missing, Plus walker, wright and flores. Yes cespedes went down and that was huge but also during that time they lost like 4 other key players in a week span.

That is why the mets sank yes cespedes is the biggest piece but losing cabrera and reyes and walker didn't help either at 1 point we were playing without the guy hitting 1-4 in our lineup no team can survive that for long. And they got some players back, but they still got alot out and they have won 85 games and they have been badly injured all year, this team would of been right up there easily if they had normal injuries, this isn't about one guy this team has live with 7-10 guys on the DL of the 25 man optimum roster you can make up pretty much all year in my opinion.

And even as good as the mets are playing this is not clearly the same team as last year as the injuries to the pitching staff has been catastrophic. Granted Lugo and Gsellman have done extremely well I can't say enough good things about them. But losing that much pitching makes this team have 1 ace 1 solid pitchers and two unproven pitchers, now nobody says they can't be making there way to good careers, but they are not like Degromm harvey and Matz which were more known options at this point.

One guy can ruin a team and losing cespedes was huge for that bit but what also exacerbated that is we lost like 5 key guy in a week in addition to numerous guys we were down allready in my opinion.
