LiquidMetal is classed as stainless steel.
P.S. and stainless steel can be made Amorphous, semi or 100%

Will iPhone 8 use "non metallic" Glass casing

I have always believed when Ming Chi Kuo says "glass", he meant "non metallic glass"...not Bulk Metallic Glass. To my knowledge, he has never mentioned liquidmetal in any of his past prediction despite many on this board accused him of such.

With that being said, we need to take on his "reasoning" behind the predication rather than implying "insider knowledge". Note back in March when he predicted transition from aluminum to glass case is for all the "wireless" need.

http://appleinsider.com/articles/16/09/29/all-2017-iphones-likely-to-have-glass-casing-stainless-steel-edges-may-be-limited-to-high-end-models

"As for the expected switch to glass, Kuo noted that glossy metal casings, like are found on the iPhone 7, are prone to scratches. Apple itself has warned consumers that the jet black aluminum polished finish on the iPhone 7 is vulnerable to scuffing and scratching.

Glass, however, is more durable and scratch-resistant while also offering a glossy finish."

Unless Corning comes up with a better product with Gorilla Glass 6, I don't believe it is "good enough"

Note most (if not all) smartphone user has a "screen protector" for scratch resistance. iPhone 7 (with Gorilla Glass 5) still requires the same.

While it is easy to apply screen protector to a "flat" glass display screen surface, it is next to impossible to apply them on a "curve" surface. Unlike iPhone 4, back of the phone is not expected to be "flat".

BMG solution clearly will be the superior choice over "non metallic glass" for scratch resistance. As other poster highlighted, nothing can beat liquidmetal for bend-gate avoidance.

Again here I repeat Eontec statement on glossy finish

Hello, may I ask if the company's liquid metal casing can be made like the iphone7 new piano black glossy finish? Can the glossy surface be made scratch resistant because of the strength of the liquid metal? Can you make different colors of glossy casing?
Thank you (at 15:34 on September 14, 2016)

Hello! Thanks for your interest in the company. Theoretically liquid metal can do the kind of glossy black piano finish, but the company has yet to perform in actual operation . Liquid metal can be done in different colors of glossy finish. Thank you!
