my memory is that in one case a dictator invaded a sovereign nation and in another 4 commercial jets were highjacked and 3000 mostly US citizens were killed by terrorists who were aided and abetted by the government of Afghanistan.

talking about cutting budget deficits is a canard. Setting a huge budget and then not spending all of the money is something any fool can do. Bragging about it just shows that they think their audience is intellectually shallow. If any of these people cut debt or debt to GDP, then i might be impressed.
