That may be what they think, but there are a few major points to consider.

1. Exclusivity (versus patent protection) protects from competition (7 to 10 years) regarding commercialization/marketing use from the time the product enters the market. So (not so) old is young again.

2. The base technology might have been around for a little while, but because it is a new paradigm, patient safety analysis and manufacturing improvement are paramount to getting it to market. Again making (not so) old young again.

3. It would be new to patients diagnosed with cancer who are not currently in clinical trials.

Car-T is just as old.

Long time coming

CAR T-cell therapy has had a lengthy run-up to what may appear to be overnight success. The first CAR T cells were developed at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel in the late 1980s by chemist and immunologist Zelig Eshhar. In 1990, Eshhar took a year-long sabbatical to join Steven Rosenberg at the National Institutes of Health, where they prepared CARs that targeted human melanoma. “We designed CAR T cells to overcome a number of problems in getting T cells to attack cancer,” says Eshhar. These problems included a tumor’s ability to escape immune recognition by silencing the major histocompatibility complex molecules and the generally immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment.

Look, the bottom line of what I'm trying to say, is, the Car-t companies are overvalued, and NWBO is drastically undervalued. The former are backed by major venture capitalists like Jeff Bezos (Amazon), the latter have been the subject of relentless share price manipulation.
The former has received very 'considerate' treatment from the FDA, NWBO hasn't!

When the realization dawns on the scientific world and to both institutional and retail investors, then, there will start to be a fundamental adjustment.

This week is just the start of that process.
