Well the powers that be don't want trading transparency because it doesn't benefit them. I agree with you wholeheartedly there is a better way. So I put together some numbers from today's volume. Just for disclosure I use ADVFN.com trades and shortanalytics.com.
From ADVFN Buy Volume was 10,257,611 Sell Volume was 11,463,637 Unknown Volume was 648,549
Total Trading Volume 22.4 million
From Short Analytics Short Vol was 5,636,835 Long Volume was 8,406,446 Total 14,043,380
What stands out to me is that 5.6 million shares were sold short but the sell volume was 11.4 million. So the stock was up 42% and 5.8 million shares were sold in addition to the 5.6 million shares that were sold short. Does anyone believe that? Long volume was 8.4 million which is incredible. Or you could look at this way. Almost 30% of the free float was bought today and the stock only went up 17 cents. Unbelievable!
