Seeing as how the Microsoft settlement payed all convertible debt and stopped dilution while simultaneously propelling the stock 400% to current levels which it continues to hold I would actually say that shareholders did see money from the Microsoft settlement. If it had gone to court shareholders would likely still be waiting for a resolution while toxic financiers flooded the OS causing another reverse split.
I think settlement was the right call in the circumstance and I am looking forward to 3 more.
