There is also already decades of data on steady cognitive decline due to AZ with and without various attempted treatments. How many more times do you think that needs to be proven.

A main purpose of control arms are to verify the data is clean.
There are often positive results in small trials that are discounted due to positive data in the control arm.
The control patients in the PRAN trial had amyloid results that were never seen in any previous trial. It put the whole trial in question and was never accounted for.
