you are correct in some way. For me I experienced first time two way authentication on security software. I used Kaspersky/Norton, none of which asked for two way authentication. I just had to wait for 10-15 minutes for my account confirmation. I liked what they offer.
I have an Android but found it simple yet frustrating...lot of back and forth between website and app but I had no problems when I followed the instructions. They should put on the app's login page a link to register using your serial # (or better yet, integrate registration into the app) rather than make you follow the instructions telling you to visit a url, go back to the app, etc.
