Price you pay for a perennial Cy Young Contender on a team friendly contract for the next few years. The gets a King's Ransom, or you hold onto him. Let the bidding wars begin!

If this guy is correct about the "Good Chance", your METS are SCREWED!

(1 hr ago) Juan Lagares' thumb injury could result in Conforto seeing consistent playing time in center field.

Lagares likely will require surgery to repair the torn ligament in his thumb. To replace him on the active roster, Brandon Nimmo was allied up Thursday night. But he, like Conforto, is a lefty and not a true center fielder, as he is better served at a corner spot. With Yoenis Cespedes playing through a balky quad, limiting him to left field, the Mets have precious few options on center field. Conforto has been moved to that position but has been sitting against southpaws for Lagares. With Conforto, Nimmo and Curtis Granderson all lefties, Conforto might be the primary beneficiary of Lagares' absence, but there is a good chance manager Terry Collins turns to the recently hot Alejandro De Aza.

Your math and stats are awesome...

I think you're some kind of bean counter in real life.

I just don't see the point in being so frugal when you think a team is THISCLOSE to advancing in the playoffs.

If you overpay with prospects for a legit guy who can improve your team in the post season, I say go for it.

Your team got in last year but came up short. In hindsight, was there someone out there that you could have "overpaid" for that could have made you better? There probably was.

At least you still have your prospects and in reality, they are just that.
