Our whole system is racist and corrupt. It's in Congress, U.S. Judicial system and DEA and FDA, all of them imo. The timing or whatever the DEA decision is politics im sure not science. Im completely disgusted with our U.S. Federal Government. The DNC is corrupt and should be sued by the people imo now. They need to start this primary all over again. Buy Gold! Go Bernie!

I have to question that author's interpretation of the data and would need further clarification. Here is why... In the quota list published in the federal register it does say that there will be 472,000 grams produced in 2017 of "marihuana." However, in the same list, it separately states a quota of 409,000 grams of tetrahydracannabinols. The two separate entries for "marihuana" and "tetrahydracannabinols" can be found if you scroll down to the embedded list:

https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2016/07/22/2016-17370/proposed-aggregate-production-quotas-for-schedule-i-and-ii-controlled-substances-and-assessment-of#h-10

In light of all the import/export changes the DEA has also been publishing in the Federal Register, it very well may be that the U.S. "marihuana" PRODUCTION quota doesn't go up in 2017 because they may be initially importing some from Canada for research purposes, while a separate quota listing for Tetrahydracannabinols may entail importing of already extracted oils.

Also, FYI, Tetrahydracannabinols do not include CBD (cannabinoid, but not a cannabinol). Aside from that, there is no way you can make 409,000 grams of tetrahydracannabinols from 470,000 grams of mj as it takes at least an order of magnitude more MJ to produce that much concentrate.
