One thing we've all learned from this presidential campaign is the candidate/candidate's surrogate can say anything and their loyal followers will believe them. Trump's dust-up over his request to address the NYPD at roll call is just another example - if Trump/his surrogates say it, his followers believe it must be true because they want to believe him. Another example...If you get a chance read David Sanger's July 6, 2016 NYT column, HILLARY CLINTON'S EMAIL WAS PROBABLY HACKED, EXPERTS SAY. Sanger discusses the probability that HRC's email was hacked by "sophisticated adversaries", as FBI Dir Comey referred to them, while she was outside the United States. Yet, HRC continues to claim her emails were not hacked and her loyal followers will believe her because they want to believe her even though her claim flies in the face of what the FBI/private experts suspect - HRC's email account was probably breached when she was outside the United States, but the intruders were far too skilled to leave evidence of their work.

And the ironic part of all this is HRC's followers criticize Trump supporters who blindly believe whatever he says, not recognizing they are doing the same thing.
