#84495 RE: Sam81 #84468

My handicaps are too many to list, LOL - age and disease have not been kind to my body. Used to be a 13 before becoming ill, could easily break 100 even after that happened, but not even keep score most of the time right now - something dramatic has happened in the last 1.5 yrs, have lost 40 yds off my avg. drive (used to hit it 260 avg.) - makes long and/or uphill par 4's play like par 5's, can't reach the green in two - not fun. For the life of me cannot figure out what the problem is, except perhaps muscle loss**, probably less flexibility as well. The variability drives me nuts - some days I feel fine, can hit a 7 iron 165 yds, the next time I play I might struggle to hit it 135 yds.

** I've written here about how V has helped me lose nearly all of the inflammatory weight I once carried - easily 10% of my body mass - but I think I lost about 5 lbs of muscle along the way too - unrelated nagging health problems have cut my activity levels way down - currently grounded because of a sprained right foot/big toe suffered last Friday, accidentally stepped into a hole in the rough - makes walking around the house tough, let alone swinging a club, where your right foot/big toe takes all the torque/load while pushing off during the downswing.

Edit: Just remembered why I'm weaker than normal - had EBV (mono) and mycoplasma pneumonia flareups this spring - duh! Still not sure they went back into complete remission, neither are "cureable".
