#41436 RE: comatose #41433

That article is as depressing as it gets. For years, a primate bombarded his subscribers with tales how GW would take over the container world and how if Docker was worth $2B, ANY would be worth much more because they were able to containerize not just Linux, but just about everything.

Then, to great fanfare, Microsoft was introduced as the partner, in the meantime providing a neat excuse for lack of monetization and continued losses.

Now, a year later we have Microsoft on containers like Docker and open source solutions, but no mention whatsoever of GW.

What happened to the joint marketing?

If anyone still has dreams about GW amounting to anything, let alone taking over the virtualization world he/she should wake up. The chasm between what was promised (read basically any HTFBS from a few years ago) and the deafening silence on all fronts (IT press, sales, independent tests, customers, let a alone customers testifying) of today's reality can no longer be explained away.

I hope for you guys that they will be able to get out of the rot with turning around the VMWare based business, but forget about GW, that really looks ever more like a scam by the day.
