I'm probably the wrong person to ask. I have a firm belief that technicals drive markets. Fundamentals offer tender for a fire, and news events may "trigger" a move that is already in the making, but ultimately it comes down to technical resistance, support, overbought, and oversold conditions. How many times have you seen a "sell the news" event on the same information that when released a year earlier triggered a massive run?
My philosophy is look for extreme conditions and position yourself for a news event to trigger a technical explosion in the direction that technicals dictate the company price go.
