Major supplier sees 2016 iPhone shipments down as much as 8.6%, Nikkei reports
Apple's iPhone shipments will total 210M-220M in 2016 according to a person at a major Apple supplier, which would mean a decline of as much as 8.6% from 2015 and mark the first annual decline in iPhone shipments since the smartphone's debut in 2007, said the Nikkei Asian Review. As sources say that the upcoming iPhone 7 lacks innovation, the Chairman of Hon Hai Precision, better known as Foxconn, which makes about 70% of iPhones sold globally, has reportedly told his staff that the demand for iPhones will remain feeble until at least early next year, the report added. Some of Apple's key suppliers include Qualcomm (QCOM), Broadcom Limited (AVGO), Qorvo (QRVO), Skyworks (SWKS), InvenSense (INVN), NXP Semiconductors (NXPI), Cirrus Logic (CRUS), Texas Instruments (TXN) and Intel (INTC
