Major supplier sees 2016 iPhone shipments down as much as 8.6%, Nikkei reports
Apple's iPhone shipments will total 210M-220M in 2016 according to a person at a major Apple supplier, which would mean a decline of as much as 8.6% from 2015 and mark the first annual decline in iPhone shipments since the smartphone's debut in 2007, said the Nikkei Asian Review. As sources say that the upcoming iPhone 7 lacks innovation, the Chairman of Hon Hai Precision, better known as Foxconn, which makes about 70% of iPhones sold globally, has reportedly told his staff that the demand for iPhones will remain feeble until at least early next year, the report added.
