Don't blame Ming Chi Kuo....He is highly regard in Apple world despite what you say.

He never mentioned a word about liquidmetal. Feel free to google it. He only mentioned glass instead of aluminum casing. As in any other iphone case material, be it glass/aluminum/plastic, there will always be glass at least on one side. After all, iphone is a viewing computer.

This is the rumor that translated his word. Glass mentioned here means glass back not glass top.

http://appleapple.top/why-iphone-2017-will-be-made-of-liquid-metal/

With that being said, in the past there were a lot of other glass related rumors that associated with liquidmetal as a frame/mold due to its super precision coupling capability.

Thanks to our friend patentlyapple, there were also ton of published liquidmetal patent (CIP) that relate to glass

For all the old timers here, these can all relate into Anax blog for technical detail.

Liquidmetal is "cool" and it always latched onto apple rumor being the skin/case due to its so called non-destructive nature. In reality, it is a material that can fit well within so many different aspect inside/outside an electro-mechanical equipment.

You might ask why it is not all over the place then. Simple answer is that it is better than a lot of material but not well enough (irreplacable) to justify its cost.

For a tenth anniversary iPhone, just like the Omega watch ......someone might say

"I am worth it"
