MMs trade for the day and gaps need not ever fill. They don't say, "Hay, man, there is a gap that has to be filled so we have to move the stock that way." Many times gaps have not been filled in both directions. The reason some people think gaps have to be filled in penny land is because they are so volatile that they are usually filled, or the person wants them filled for a better trade. But they don't have to be filled.
