Alan, I do not recall EVER having said that you had your "head in the sand" so I am a bit confused as to why you say " this time" to me.

Regardless... I fully believe that it is a necessary condition that standards are promulgated and accepted which include the technology embedded within PrintRite BEFORE industry will have a need to spend 40 to 50% more than the cost of the machine in order to incorporate INSPECT or DEFORM. It is also a necessary condition that moderate to high volume runs of high value AM parts begin before there is a justification for the cost of PR3D. I just do not see the pressure to purchase at the moment. GE has barely begun to print nozzles and not in a significant volume.

Players will seek to evaluate before buying and if they are able to negotiate a PR3D to evaluate without purchasing it, why should they tondo so now?

When there are standards for metal printing promulgated and accepted, which will allow for certification and qualification of AM produced parts, then the machine builders and OEMs will need to purchase (or develop) applications like PR3D. Until then, they do not need to buy it. How would their shareholders react to the expense?,......

When there are standards for metal printing promulgated and accepted which involve the parameters included within PR3D, when there are moderate to high volume production runs and when all of these supposed stealth technologies are in the light of day, the evaluation of Sigma versus the others will be valid.

Your assessment and my assessment of where industry is, is at variance. I believe that this is the basis for our differences of opinion as to the significance of the lack of sales at the current time. Stay tuned for further developments.

patience and GLTA
