Thanks for the news update!!

Interesting to see Exxon getting into the MVTG technology fray, but unlike GE, MVTG's partner, Exxon once again picked the wrong partner-technology as the Fcel fuel cell only captures CO2 while consuming more nat gas. They are playing a shell game there as it does nothing useful with the CO2 and does not store energy, while the MVTG-ERC makes high value products like the 30 billion dollar/year syn gas market and formates that both store the CO2 as portable fuels and as feed stocks for making many other organic products like diesel fuel, and plastics.

While Exxon was news in that PR, Fcel's activity and technology is not news, they have a eurozone demo grant already in progress and a recent US DOE grant that are both only 1 and about 2 years old for doing the same exact thing, they just added Exxon to the interested company list. They are late players to the CO2 capture technology development party and their systems are very complex and very costly with a waste heat Hvac-like turbine generator technology add-on device added to their fuel cells that are needed to use the massive waste heat they produce to make power that are needed to reach any serious energy efficiency capability. They also use high temperature delicate ceramic membranes with issues. They also cost at least 5 times more than MVTG fuel cells, maybe 8 times more as they are not the low cost fuel cell player that Ballard was.
