I think I'd have to agree with rain on this one. There are several companies that could afford 8Mil. Lenovo( yes they make cell phones) Meizu ( one of the most popular phones in china) and Xiaomi( this company is bigger than ZTE).

So to come to the conclusion that there is only one company can afford 8mil is just plain false!

We will just have to wait and see what shakes out.
