By "like ek" I presume you mean Kodak. I remember hearing about the fortune Kodak patents were worth... and I guess they had considerable value... but not enough.
In the end EK shares were cancelled with little notice. Funniest thing was the "player" who thought the chart looked great with EK rising from 4 cents near market close. He loaded up.
Next day Eastman Kodak didn't open. Poof! Vaporized! HILARIOUS. A warning to SUNE Players.
