It was me. I bought roughly 100K shares in the last hour. Why? I'm sure plenty of people would disagree with me but I see it as a value investment. We still don't know what's going on with the POET halt. Hopefully we know soon, but it seems good.
My logic is based on the comparison that I have been making with POET and LWLG over the last few months. Both have been building an answer to the industry need for a optical solution. Both are "show me" stories over decades of development. Just because POET has potentially delivered first doesn't mean that LWLG won't deliver next and that possibility is valuable.
How valuable? Well, if they announce revenues or partnerships many people including me, believe we will see a multiple jump in SP. So on that basis I see a potential upside of 50-200% over the next year. The SP downside is limited, maybe 45 cents. Based on that comparison, I see LWLG as a value investment with the understanding that I could wait a significant time for this value to be realized.
Of course, we all have to answer only to ourselves for these kinds of decisions and I won't blame anyone if I'm wrong. It should be obvious by now that I believe in this science. I still don't see the business strategy but my gut tells me there should be a need for these materials.
